4 Types of Employees that you should not hire

Getting the right employee is no cakewalk, it takes time and patience till you find a right fit.
However there are a certain traits that should be considered as red-flags and should help you
filter the not-so-good from the best.
Let’s have a look at the employees that you should not hire

1. “I am sorry I am Late”
Turning up late regularly, not meeting deadline, arriving late for meetings are all signs of
a chronic latecomer. It speaks a lot about that candidate and his perspective of time. Such
candidates will always underestimate the time that will be needed to complete a given work and
will end up wasting much more time in bargain.
An unpunctual candidate shows irresponsibility and respect towards others’ time. In the long run
the organisation only suffers with such a callous attitude.

2. “I am in sales, because there’s a lot of money”
Choosing to be in a certain job for a wrong reason shows lack of clarity and true
purpose. A candidate with a personal agenda / benefit rarely makes the mark. A right candidate
always puts the organisation first and is not self-centred and understands that every job profile
will help him learn a quality or two and money will come as a byproduct of the job itself.

3. “I left my previous job because I didn’t like the people there”
A candidate who complains about his previous job and culture is likely to complain about
the job he will now join. Mud-slinging doesn’t take people too far. A complaining candidate is
tough to get along with in the company and doesn’t come across as a good team-player.
He/She not only makes the atmosphere in the office sullen but also is difficult to work with.

4. “That’s not my job”
A candidate or employee who only sticks to his job profile and is unwilling to share task
of his colleague unless it is “below” his/her current position or designation is a certain red-flag.
Saying “it’s not my job” is as good as saying “i care only for myself”. Candidate with an attitude
like that only makes matter worse for himself/herself.
